Second prisoner escapes from Blantyre House Prison in the space of weeks
A second prisoner has absconded from Blantyre House Prison in Goudhurst in the space of a couple of weeks.
Raymond Atkins, 39, was given home leave for family reasons but breached the conditions of his licence and has not returned to the prison.
Mr Atkins was allocated a hostel in Brighton to reside in during his leave; however he failed to check-in.
Kent Police is now appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of Raymond Atkins.
He was last seen in St George’s Road in Hastings on Saturday at 4.45pm, and he remains unlawfully at large.
Mr Atkins is described as white European, of medium build, 5ft 8in tall with brown eyes & dark cropped hair, and has piercings in his left ear.
Members of the public are advised not to approach him, but those with information should contact local police or 999.
The disappearance of Raymond Atkins comes just two weeks after another prisoner failed to return to Blantyre House after working in the community.
